Sustainable, profitable livestock production starts with optimal soil matter. The biology within the soil
converts elements into nutrients that all stock feeding vegetation absorbs. This is turn provides vital
nutrients for the production of all animal feed materials. Similarly, biota in the rumen further converts the
intake feed materials into digestible nutrients providing fuel for successful livestock growth and highly
sustainable reproduction performance.
It is vital to preserve our most valuable asset, the soil and the biota within it, from degradation caused by
increasingly unpredictable weather conditions and financial pressures to increase farm production.
This will require knowledge about how to assist active biota produce, to ensure more digestible forage and
the most absorbable feed material nutrients to increase livestock production.
PFMA has carried out feed trials with lambs and beef to determine how to best improve growth and net
yield efficiency, while still maintaining animal health and achieving profitable livestock production. Trials
using improved feed materials and knowledge will continue, in combination with a better understanding of
the value of sustainable forage and grain production.
PFMA News is the place where our valued customers can come to find the latest up-to-date information
and results of future feed trials using selected feed materials and animal genetics. Here customers can
discover how we achieve increased livestock production with improved intake feed efficiency, while at the
same time sustaining our natural resources and ecosystems.
